Indoor Installation
When LED strip lights are used for indoor decoration, the installation is very simple. The back of every LED strip light we wholesale is coated with strong 3M double-sided tape. Just peel off the tape on the 3M double-sided tape and fix the strip light where it needs to be installed, then press it down by hand. The LED strip light is composed of a series and parallel circuit structure with 3 LED beads as one group, and every 3 LED beads can be cut and used separately according to the required length, but pay attention to the solder pad.
Outdoor Installation
For outdoor installation of LED strip lights, emphasis is on the waterproofing of the strip and the firmness of the installation. The reason for such installation is that LED strip lights will be exposed to wind and rain. If fixed with 3M adhesive, over time, the adhesive may degrade, causing the LED strip light to fall off. Therefore, a commonly used method for outdoor installation is fixed channels. For areas that need cutting and connecting, the method is the same as indoor installation, but an additional waterproof adhesive is required to reinforce the waterproof effect at the connection points. Then, use special fixing clips that can be installed either with an electric drill or with plastic expansion tubes and screws.
Wiring Method
Generally, the voltage for LED strip lights is AC220V, DC12V, and DC24V. Therefore, it is necessary to select a suitable switch power supply according to the power and length of the LED strip. Importantly, do not connect DC12V or DC24V to AC220V; otherwise, all beads will be burned out. Also, DC12V cannot be connected to a DC24V control power supply; otherwise, the power will increase more than twofold, and beads are likely to burn out. AC220V strips can be directly plugged into the mains. RGB colorful LED strips require a controller for changing effects, usually using 4 wires for black, red, green, blue distinction. The colorful strip is generally common-anode, meaning one of the wires on the strip is +12V connected to the black wire, while the others are negative, and RGB connects to the corresponding red, green, blue interfaces or power wires.
Connection Distance
For the 3528 series of LED strip lights, the maximum connection length is 20 meters, and for the 5050 series, it is 15 meters. If this connection distance is exceeded, the LED strip lights will easily become heated, affecting their lifespan during use. The control distance for the simple
RGB controller is 10 to 15 meters, and for the remote controller, it is 15 to 20 meters, which can control up to 30 meters. If the connection distance of the LED strip light is long, and the controller cannot control such a lengthy strip, then a power amplifier is needed for branching. Therefore, it is essential to install according to the manufacturer's requirements.
